NoeticEcho UI

The design system behind the world and this site: tokens, components for React, LiveView and BabylonJS, and a logo that is a function. One upstream, because four copies of the look had drifted apart.

By The Editors @editors

NoeticEcho UI is the design system behind the world and this site: one source for colour, type, components and the logo, with an implementation for each runtime we use.

It holds CSS tokens and JSON contracts, more than ninety components in React, the same set ported to Phoenix LiveView in eleven modules, GUI helpers for BabylonJS, written guidelines and seven UI kits. Its three typefaces cover Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and Vietnamese. Nine state words, from dormant to unknown, mean the same thing in the world and in the interface, and unknown never invents a value. The logo is a deterministic function and not a picture: the same seed and state give the same frame.

It exists because of what drift cost us. There were four copies of the look, three of them in this repository. The instruments' amber and the world's amber were different colours, 27 of 255 apart in green, and nothing could notice, because nothing compared the two files.

The decision is simple. The project in Claude Design is upstream, and the repository vendors all of it, more than five hundred files, and reimplements none of it. The LiveView modules compile from where they are synced, the scene's palette is generated from the tokens, and a local edit is only ever a defect fix that goes back upstream and into a log. When the port arrived, none of its templates had ever been compiled. The first compile took four rounds, and three parse errors in two files had made all eleven modules unloadable.

A runnable audit checks each surface in the DOM, including type floors, 44 px targets and contrast against the nearest opaque ancestor.

Not built yet

The logo has its runtime and renderers, and no component or LiveView port. Right-to-left layout is not done. CJK typefaces were measured and not downloaded. Frame treatments such as grain on a degraded state are described for a runtime and not implemented, and haptics are described while sound is built.

Its files are not public, and there is no package to install. The code is closed for now.
