Nabu

A personal assistant that runs on your own computer: a team of Claude Code agents with long-term memory, tools and tasks, in a browser chat or in Telegram. What you tell it stays in local databases.

Paused since July 2026, at v1.13.0. Its interface and agents speak Russian first.

Nabu is a personal assistant that lives on your own computer. It is a team of AI agents run through Claude Code, with a long memory, tools and a task list, and you talk to it in a browser chat or in Telegram, by text or by voice. It is at v1.13.0, under MIT, and the source is public.

A chat that forgets you after one conversation is not an assistant. Nabu keeps what you choose to tell it, in Postgres with pgvector and a TypeDB graph, in Docker on your machine, and by default a local model computes the embeddings. Claude does the reasoning, through the Claude subscription you already have, with no API key of its own.

What it does today:

  • Ministers and a council. Agents for areas of life: health, money, work, relationships, growth. A question that touches several of them convenes a council. The ministers argue, one agent sums up with the trade-offs shown, and another checks the safety limits.
  • Seven kinds of memory, from what happened to what you plan, and a library of books and documents that are not about you, kept apart from what is.
  • Three levels of privacy. The most private notes are encrypted on your machine, get no embeddings at all, and do not reach the model by any ordinary path.
  • Nothing risky without you. An outside, financial or destructive action waits until a person presses a button. The model cannot approve itself.
  • A scheduler, backups, and local import of health exports and bank statements.

Since v1.13.0 one copy can also serve a team, each person in a space of their own. That mode is off by default.

What it does not do

  • It is paused. The last release, v1.13.0, came out in July 2026, and since then the repository has had only routine commits.
  • Its interface and agents are Russian first. An English interface is planned and is not there.
  • It needs Claude Code with a Max subscription, Docker, and Node 22 or newer.
  • It trusts any process on your computer that can reach its port. It is a tool for one person on one machine, and its port should not be opened to a network you do not trust.
  • Its agents give information, not medical, legal or financial decisions. For those they send you to a professional.
