Neocortex

We intend a second brain for one person: a place that remembers what you read, what you decided and what you did, and keeps all of it in your hands. It would hold documents that link to each other, your files, an inbox for anything you want to put down quickly, and a note for each day. Beside them would be a chat with a model, through a subscription you already have or a model running on your own computer, and agents that link new notes to old ones.

Everything would live on your computer, in databases of its own, reachable from your laptop and your phone on your own network, and nobody but you would sign in. It would install as one program that sets up whatever it needs.

Memory here is not a heap of records. As sleep does for a person, it would go back over the day: turn what happened into what you know, keep the story of how you came to know it, and let go of what no longer matters. You could see each of those steps and correct it.
